The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) is a tertiary hospital in Nigeria, affiliated with the University of Lagos College of Medicine. 

Established in 1961 and opened in 1962, LUTH is located in the Idi-Araba area of Lagos. It serves as a major medical center for the training of healthcare professionals and the provision of specialized patient car

LUTH is a federal hospital and serves as the last referral point for many complex medical cases in Lagos and beyond. This translates to a heavy workload, but also a great learning experience.

🏠 Accommodation

• Not the best, but manageable—be grateful for a space within the hospital.

• Types of accommodation:
   

  • RMO 1, RMO 2, RMO 3 → Allocated via balloting, with payments made to the housing department.
  • RMO 5 & RMO 6 → Available without balloting.

• Downside:
   

  • Shared bathroom & toilet with the next room.
  • Limited spaces compared to the number of House Officers.

• Upside:
   

  • Steady light & water (most of the time).
  • Close to the hospital, which is convenient for night calls.

💰 Salary

Same as MDCN (₦244,000/month).
