RSUTH stands for Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, located in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. It is the teaching hospital affiliated with the College of Medical Sciences of the Rivers State University.

Formerly Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMH), RSUTH is one of the finest hospitals in the South-South region. It was transformed into a teaching hospital in 2018 and continues to improve.
There are two accommodation options available (both free)
One is the newly launched HO quarters (2023) which is located within the hospital.
Each apartment includes:
Parlour, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom.
Fridge, microwave, AC, water heater, cooker, and gas cylinder.
Electricity bills are the occupant's responsibility.
You also share this apartment with a fellow house officer
The second accommodation option is located in about a 10 minute walking distance from the hospital. It is the older quarters so it isn't as comfortable as the one in the hospital.
You share a room with a fellow house officer as well.
Each room contains a bathroom.
A Bed, microwave, fridge, cooking gas, fan and a kettle are also provided.
You share a parlour and kitchen with about 3 other rooms
The electricity bills are also the occupant's responsibility
Conducive work environment (both in the hospital and HO quarters).
There's always light and water in the hospital however it's not the case in the quarters.
Call rooms are mostly Conducive with ACs.
They employ a lot of house officers per time.
Special postings in surgery (Neurosurgery, Burns and plastics, Cardiothoracic Unit, Urology) can be hectic because you're on call everyday.
They use papers and folders instead of EMR

Fairly organized system
There is shortage of continuation sheets and lab forms sometimes so the nurses might want to police over how much you take.
The registrars are usually available during calls to assist in patient management and setting difficult lines (especially in paediatrics)
Efficient process—main interaction with HR was during resumption.
A day is set aside for induction lectures on health & being a health worker.
Not too bad. There are a lot of good and helpful residents.
However, you might find yourself trying to avoid extensions more times than not (especially in paediatrics)
Call food provided.
No meal tickets given.
There isn't a very functional canteen or cafeteria within the hospital so you'll have to order your food from sites like chowdeck, hypercity or take a 5 minutes walk to the museum to get food.
