• 3rd Floor: Internal Medicine.
• 4th Floor: Internal Medicine, Urology, Pediatric Surgery.
• Other Specialty Buildings: Pediatrics, Burns & Plastic, Psychiatry, Nuclear Medicine, CEPU, etc.
• Nighttime Ambiance: A peaceful environment with well-lit paths and tree-lined walkways.

🏠 Accommodation

₦3,500/month (₦42k/year). Single & double rooms available (mini self-contain, manageable). High demand, but priority is given to doctors. You may have to wait a few weeks. Old building, but a new one is under construction (completion date unknown). Located within the hospital premises (less than 5 minutes walk).

🔴 Downsides

Some units have heavier workloads (Neurosurgery, Neurology, Nephrology, Pediatrics, Burns & Plastic). Occasional lack of essential work materials. Power outages happen sometimes. Weekend calls can be intense.

🟢 Upsides

Fast emergency response at A&E. No transport costs (quarters are close to the hospital). Call food is provided daily.

💰 Salary

Same as MDCN (₦267,000/month).

⚕️ Orderliness & Work Conditions

Well-organized hospital setting. House officers' duties include: Giving all IV medications & infusions, preparing post-op treatment sheets & IV drug charts, writing & sending consults, checking patient vitals before consultant/SR rounds, administering chemotherapy in applicable units.

🏢 Administration

HR is efficient, minimal stress. Registration is quick (1-2 days). NHIS registration takes a bit longer but isn’t difficult. Mixed personalities among doctors—some are nice, some are toxic. 🔑 Tip: Just do your job well, and you won’t have problems.

🍛 Food

One of the best things about UPTH! Affordable & quality meals at the hospital kitchen. House officers get 2 meals (Mon-Fri) and 3 meals (Sat-Sun) throughout house job.
